IGNOU B.Ed. Admission January 2018
Indira Gandhi National Open University offers admission to its distance learning Bachelor of Education course every year during the January session. The course is offered under School of Education, popularly known as SOE.
Medium of Instruction: Hindi and English
Programme Duration: Two Years. However, a student can complete the course in maximum duration of 5 years.
IGNOU B.Ed. Admission Fee
The students taking admission in this course will need to pay the amount of Rs. 50,000. However, before depositing the admission fee, you need to check the exact amount of fees with the current year’s prospectus so as to avoid any kind of discrepancy.
It is important to note here that you need not pay the programme fee at the time of submitting admission-cum-entrance application form. You will be required to pay the fee only when you pass out the entrance examination of IGNOU BES B.Ed.

IGNOU B.Ed. Entrance Test Eligibility Criteria
- 55 per cent or above marks in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Science/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks
- Trained in-service teachers in elementary education
or
- Who have completed an NCTE recognized teacher education in face-to-face mode(where students attend campus classes on day-to-day basis and have lectures at the time and date specified)
IGNOU B.Ed. Reservation and Relaxation
- 5% reservation and relaxation in the minimum eligibility to the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC(creamy layer excluded)/PWD(Persons with Disabilities)
- Reservation to war widows and Kashmiri Migrants as per the rules formulated by IGNOU.
IGNOU B.Ed. Entrance Test Admission Procedure
Admission will be awarded to only the students who become successful in the entrance test conducted by the university all over India. The top scorers will get admission. The successful students will be required to submit their original documents after they receive the letter of the admission by IGNOU.
It is however important to note here that the admission of the students to the program shall be subject to their rank in the merit list of the IGNOU B.Ed. entrance test and production of proof of their eligibility at the time of date of submission of application, in addition to the programme fee and original certificate.
