Note: This question paper has three sections. The students have to attempt any two questions in about 500 words each from Section I, any four questions in about 250 words each from Section II and any two short notes in about 100 words each from Section III. The marks are mentioned against each question.
SECTION I

Q7. Analyse the factors which led to the formulation of Ashoka’s policy of Dhamma. What were its main principles?
Q8. Write a note on the contacts between Central Asia and North India between 200 B.C. to 300 A.D.
Q9. Give an account of the society and economy under the Gupta rulers.
Q10. Trace the rise of post Gupta kingdoms in North India in the 6th century A.D.
Q11. What were the chief characteristics of the expansion of trade and urban centres in South India from 200 B.C. to 300 A.D?
Q12. Trace the development in Bhakti Movement in South India in the early medieval period.
